Bread is a 2025 original by Danish conceptual artist Thomas Hanscomb, from the project Art of the People.
Bread in a frame. Carried into a museum and hung next to Andy Warhol. No invitation, no curator, no permission.
Art of the People handed the museum's decision to the public. The public chose the objects. Thomas Hanscomb hung them in SMK, ARoS, Trapholt and Tate. The videos passed 50 million views.
Then the market answered. Bread sold for €8,300.
