Condom is a 2024 editioned work by Danish conceptual artist Thomas Hanscomb, from the Over the counter collection.
An object from the pharmacy shelf, with a price from the art market. Nothing about it changed. Only the context.
Protection is sold over the counter. So is this. The difference is where it sits and who is looking, and that is what decides what something is worth.
Over the counter is the studio's editioned line. Works available without consultation. No gallery appointment. No prescription required.
